Felonious Gru, (often referred to by his surname ‘Gru’) voiced by comedian and actor Steve Carrell, is the Boss of the Minions and a villainous mastermind. Using his unique weapons such as the freeze ray, jelly gun and fart gun, Gru joins the Anti Villain League in order to bring to El Macho to justice alongside agent Lucy Wilde. As the supervillain in Despicable Me (2010), Despicable Me 2 (2013), Minions (2015) and Despicable Me 3 (2017), Gru is bald, with a pointy nose and trademark scarf.
